The Alchemist
It is indeed a lovely book
to get inspired to succeed in life. It deals with so many spiritual and
philosophical contexts that people may find it difficult to connect to it. Here is a brief review.
Firstly talking about the
phrases used vigorously in the content, I found them a bit weird.
For example in crude
mannerism, “If
we want something, the whole world conspires to fulfill our desire”. “If something happens to us once it won’t
be repeated twice but if something repeats itself twice then it’ll surely
happen thrice”. How do we go about these two sentences? I
tried talking to people over these statements. People, whether they were of
Science background or Humanities, at the time discarded them saying how’ll you
prove this? I even tried to open up there philosophical mind but all in vain.
So, my point is clear. If you are saying something then do give us a way to
attach ourselves with that.
Soul
of the world, talking to your own heart, to the ocean,
desert, and at last God, everything is symbolic as far as what I understood, It
signifies a much deeper meaning and give us a way to lead life. Well, I’ve
heard people referring to it as a Fiction, As they are not able to see what it
symbolizes.
If I talk about myself, I
found it a mixture. I was able to understand the philosophy and spirituality in
it but at the same time I also wanted the same success which the lead character
in the novel achieved. But when I focused the way he achieved it I lost all my
philosophical concepts.
Finally talking about the Treasure, treasures
are not always precious stones or money. Well in this case too He got his
treasure as gold and diamonds but I think the real treasure for the boy was his
journey to achieve it. The journey gave him the meaning of his life, explained
him various facts about the world and taught him how to survive here. It gave
him the purpose of finding the treasure and that what he’s going to do with the
treasure.
Read the novel with all your heart and mind.
