Casting Couch In Bollywood

Exposed – Existence of Casting Couch in 1951
Whenever bollywood is blamed for the casting couch no one agrees to the point the really casting couch exists but these photos that you will see will actually tell you what the truth is.

Recently Payal Rohatgi, accused Dibankar Banerjee of asking her for sexual benefits for casting her in the movie. Earlier Preeti Jain had accused Madhur Bhandarkar, for pressurizing her for sex if she wants to work in the movie. We don’t know that how much truth is there in all these claims but what we know is that the casting couch does exist in bollywood and it’s not that it’s a new thing in bollywood.

The images show that the casting couch existed in bollywood since 1951, Life magazine had made some of the images public that assures that girls have to go through the casting couch phase if they want to get featured in the movie. These all images were captured by the Life Magazine photographer James Brooke.

Kardar Production was the name of the production house that was involved in the casting couch thing. This screen test was organized by A.R Kardar head of the production house for one of his movie. He wanted to cast a new face in the movie for which he had called a lot of aspiring actresses.

You can yourself judge what all went in the room that day, except screen test. The girl in the picture was asked to undress for the sake of screen test, she had no option rather than to undress in front of the people doing the screen test.

It’s not that this was a really small production house movie like Shahjahan (1946), Dulari(1949), Dil Diya Dard Liya(1966) all came from this production house. But, the bitter truth about the production house is that what all the girls have had done to get a role in the movie. So, this being the reason why bollywood people never ever take a strong stand against the casting couch issue. source
