The drama, inspired by the works of renowned mythologist Devdutt Pattanaik, has been researched by him and scripted by Utkarsh Naithani and Mihir Bhuta. The show has been dubbed in malayalam and telugu with titles Kailasnathan and Hara Hara Mahadeva, respectively.
The story first showed the emerging love of Mahadev and Sati and the process of them getting married against the will of Sati's father Daksha. And ssubsequently due to the harsh attitude of Daksha towards Shiv, Sati sacrifices herself in the sacrificial fire.
Further Sati's incarnation as Parvati is shown. After much of painstaking efforts and prayers from Parvati's side, "Shiv-Parvati Vivah" (Marriage) happens.
Right now, Jalandhar as a potential "Asur" (Demon) is shown who is actually a part of Shiv but is being moulded with evil thoughts from childhood. To kill him a weapon is being made out of Dadhichi Rishi's Bones and for this he had to sacrifice his life.
