Abhishek Kapoor's directorial movie "Kai Po Che!" has held a strong grip at domestic box office in its second day of release.
The business of the youth-oriented film witnessed a jump on Saturday and the collections almost doubled. On the opening day, the film raked in ₹4.5 crore, while on Saturday it minted ₹6.25 crore.
Taking a note of Saturday's earnings, the film is expected to see a massive jump on Sunday. The film, made on a budget of ₹12 crore, has raked in ₹10.75 crore in just two days.
"#KaiPoChe Fri 4.5 cr, Sat 6.25 cr. Biz doubles in Kolkata, Bangalore, Mumbai, Pune, Delhi. Huge growth at other places. Expect a massive Sun," trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted.
Produced by UTV Motion, the film was released in 1,000 screens across the country. The movie features three newcomers - Sushant Singh Rajput, Raj Kumar Yadav and Amit Sadh - and the story is based on their friendship.
"Kai Po Che!" is also getting positive response in the international market, where it was released across 250 screens.
The film collected ₹75.85 lakh from US on its opening day and ₹52.06 lakh from UK in two days. Its three-day collection in the UAE stood at ₹1.35 crore
