Originally scheduled to release in December 2011, the film was postponed to its tentative release date of June 1, 2012.On January 26, 2012, along with a digital poster of the film,Talaash's first teaser trailer debuted in theatres to a positive response.Due to Khan's prior commitment plans with his television show, co-producer Ritesh Sidhwani announced that the film would no longer be able to release on its tentative date as per planned and would officially release on November 30. Media reports claimed that the reason behind the delay was due to the similarities with Sujoy Ghosh's Kahaani (2012); the director, however, went on to deny the reports.
In February 2012, Reliance Entertainment acquired the distribution rights of the film for
90 crore (US$16.38 million)whilst its satellite rights were sold for 40 crore (US$7.28 million).
Talaash: The Answer Lies Within is an upcoming suspense thriller film directed by Reema Kagti. The project is jointly produced by Excel Entertainment and Aamir Khan Productions, and stars Aamir Khan, Rani Mukerji and Kareena Kapoor in pivotal roles. The soundtrack is scored by Ram Sampath along with lyrics by Javed Akhtar. Principal photography for the film occurred during March-November 2011 taking place primarily in Mumbai, Pondicherry and London. Talaash is scheduled to release on November 30, 2012.
A cop(Aamir Khan), a housewife (Rani Mukerjee) and a prostitute (Kareena Kapoor) get entangled in a mystery that links their lives in unexpected ways.
Aamir Khan will be seen in two episodes of TV crime thriller 'C.I.D'. He will be on the Sony TV show to promote his movie 'Talaash'.the episode will be shown on 22nd and 23rd November 2012.
The music of Talaash has been composed by Ram Sampath. Javed Akhtar was requested to write down the lyrics for it. The album consists of 6 tracks.
