The movie 1920 Evil Returns is a supernatural thriller which revolves around Jaidev Verma, who is a famous poet who lives the life of a loner as he is unable to meet the love of his life. He stays with his sister Karuna who is his support system until he meets Smruti, whom he finds near the lake under mysterious situations.
Jaidev brings her home and pay attenstion towards her against the wishes of his sister, who doesn't want Smruti to stay as she predict something wrong with her. After some time passes, Jaidev realize that Smruti has lost her memory and does not remember anything from her past life expect for his poems.
Jaidev has decided to take Smruti to treated her in big hospital in Shimla. While resting in a guest house, he hear the strange haunting sounds start to make him thrill. Smruti possessed by the spirit and her body is not in a positon of control.
